We are on a journey to build a better IKEA, driven by our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people. At Ingka Group we set targets, evaluate our performance and report according to our ambition to be better in four key ways: Better homes, Better lives, Better planet and Better company.

Investing for our future

At the heart of IKEA there is a simple and beautiful vision: to create a better everyday life for the many people. For more than 80 years, we have been offering affordable home furnishing products supporting people with thin wallets but big dreams and needs for life at home.

We are proud at the progress that has been made in FY24 from investing EUR 2.1 billion to make thousands of IKEA products more affordable and bringing IKEA closer to more people through new locations and digital technology, to our progress on reducing our climate footprint and helping customers to live more sustainably.

We thank our co-workers for their great resilience and determination, pulling together as a team to make IKEA more affordable and accessible, with a positive impact on people and the planet.

What do we focus on?

Put simply, we focus on the topics that are most significant and relevant for our business and our stakeholders. These topics are identified through our materiality assessment which considers two questions - could our business impact people or the planet in relation to the topic? Could the topic impact on the financial performance of our business? If the answer is yes to either question, we know it’s a material topic.

We group our material topics according to our four key movements: Better homes, Better lives, Better planet and Better company, and we report our progress on each topic.
